There's a delicious way to enjoy Seattle's "other bean" and see the city. Take Tour de Chocolat for a morning of chocolate education and plenty of sampling from some of Seattle's most famous chocolatiers.
Designed for small groups of 10 - 12, the Tour will immerse you into the world of chocolate.
Enjoy a point to point tour in a comfortably appointed tour van and enjoy expert tour guides who know their way around the city as fluently as they do the nuances of chocolate.
AT THE CHOCOLATE BOX, Downtown
You'll begin your tour with an introduction to the chocolate world and chocolate-making.
THEO CHOCOLATE, Fremont
Next you'll take a short ride to Seattle's eclectic Fremont neighborhood, home of incredibly creative Theo Chocolates. Founded in 2006, Theo is the country's only roaster of Fair Trade-certified cocoa beans. Tour the facility and learn about Theo wide range of bars and confections.
OH! CHOCOLATE, Madison Park (Friday & Saturday Tours only)
Your second stop is in Seattle's historic Madison Park neighborhood, home to Oh! Chocolate...a Seattle favorite for over 40 years. Here you'll make your own chocolate treats!
FRAN'S CHOCOLATE, Downtown Seattle
Next off to visit Fran's Chocolates, established by Fran Bigelow in 1982 based on European tradition. Her kitchen has become famous for its dark chocolate salt caramels and for a variety of tempting truffles.
CHOCOLOPOLIS, Upper Queen Anne (Sunday Tours only)
Located in Seattle's charming Queen Anne neighborhood, Chocolopolis offers you the opportunity to taste and compare over 200 bars of artisan chocolate from 20 countries. Chocolopolis chocolate experts will put your taste buds to the test to see if you can identify the flavor profiles of different single-origin chocolates.
Moonstruck Chocolates, at Chococlate Box
Your tour ends in the beautiful surroundings of our newest venture, 106 Pine, a wine bar and store that celebrates the Washington wine industry. We'll use the unique 106 Pine space (it's closed, so don't worry about minors!) to introduce you to world famous chocolatier Julian Rose and Moonstruck Chocolates ... with a brief video from Juilan's test kitchen and an insider's view of their chocolate factory. A real Willy Wonka experience!
CHOCOLATE BOX, Downtown
Back at Chocolate Box, we will introduce you to the best drinking chocolate we've ever tasted from Seattle's Chocolate Vitale. Inspired by the hot chocolate from Italian grandmother, Jim Schneider and his wife founded Chocolate Vitale to offer fine European drinking chocolate. Made from Venezuelan cocoa beans (no powder), each of the chocolate and tea blends will steal the show!
Your tour wraps up with a gift bag and discount from Chocolate Box!
TOUR DATES / TIMES / RESTRICTIONS:
Tours begin at 8:30am sharp every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Chocolate Box, 108 Pine Street, near the Pike Place Market, 206-443-3900. Please be on time as we keep a very tight schedule all morning.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Because our tours generally sell out, in order to receive a refund for cancellation, we need to hear from you at least 72 hours in advance. If you must cancel after that deadline, we will reschedule you to another tour in the future as space allows. If we can sell your seat after the cancellation deadline, we'll be happy to refund your ticket price.
Our tours should last from 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending on traffic.
Tour de Chocolat / Seattle and their chocolatier partners require that tour participants be at least 10 years of age. Children between the ages of 10 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
We allow people to sign up for the tour up until 5:00pm the day before, so in the rare case that we have to cancel a tour (when we have less than 6 attendees) we won't know for positive if we will be canceling until then. So, if you are coming from out-of-town for the tour and need to plan arrangements around that, please feel free to call us anytime to see how the tour is looking. We are more than happy to let you know how many people are signed up to give you a better idea of how to arrange your plans.
Thanks for your cooperation, we appreciate you!
Tickets include chocolate samples at each stop and a "thank you" bag at the end of the tour that includes a shopping discount coupon good at all three of our stores, Chocolate Box, 106 Pine Wine Bar, and Simply Seattle for gifts and souvenirs!
